Transferring Prescriptions to Another Pharmacy from the Workbench

This is the RECOMMENDED method of transferring prescriptions. It allows prescriptions with different statuses to be selected for transfer. When multiple prescriptions are transferred, they must all be for the same patient.

  1. Go to the Workbench. No rows should be highlighted. Press the Deselect All button to ensure no rows are highlighted.
  2. Press the Rx > Transfer.
  3. The Select Prescription window opens. Search for the prescription(s) by Rx# or patient.
  4. The Audit History for the first prescription appears. This can be used to provide the other pharmacy with information about the prescription. Press the OK button to continue or the Print button to print to print the Audit History.

Note: If multiple prescriptions are being transferred, the Audit History for each prescription appears when the OK function button is pressed in the previous Audit History window.

  1. The Transfer window appears after the Audit History is closed for the last prescription. Select the receiving pharmacy from the Pharmacy Name dropdown list.

Note: If the pharmacy is not in the dropdown list, press the Pharmacy button to add the pharmacy to the list.

  1. In the Receiving Phst field, enter the receiving pharmacist’s name. This prints on the Prescription Transfer report. The receiving pharmacist’s license number can be entered in the License # field.
  2. Enter any comments pertaining to the transfer - this prints on the Prescription Transfer report.
  3. Select your initials from the Transferring Phst dropdown list, if they are not defaulted.
  4. Indicate how the prescription will be transferred (fax or verbal).
  5. Press the OK button.
  6. If Fax was selected in the Transferred By field, PharmaClik Rx checks if the receiving pharmacy has a fax number. If the receiving pharmacy’s fax number is blank, a prompt indicates "A fax number is not entered for the receiving pharmacy; the Prescription Transfer Report cannot be faxed. Do you want to enter the fax number?"
    • Press Yes to enter a fax number for the receiving pharmacy. The Other Pharmacy list opens and the cursor is in the receiving pharmacy’s fax number field. Enter the fax number and press the OK button.
    • Press No if you do not wish to fax the report. The report can still be printed.
  7. The Prescription Transfer Report Send By window appears. If you chose to fax the report, the Fax checkbox will be selected. The Print checkbox is always selected, ensuring the report will be printed. Select both checkboxes to fax and print the report.

Note: The Print Privacy Disclaimer checkbox prints a privacy disclaimer at the bottom of the report. The checkbox is ON or OFF according to the pharmacy preference Print Privacy Disclaimer. Turn the checkbox OFF if you do not wish to include the disclaimer.

  1. Press the OK button. The Prescription Transfer Report is sent to WinFax and/or prints.
    • Press the Cancel button if you do not wish to print the Prescription Transfer report. The prescriptions are still Transferred.
